The Northern Territory of Australia is now accepting applications for its Early Interventions Grants.
Streams
- The Early Intervention Grants program has two streams:
- Stream One: Early intervention with young people starting to use DFSV – Pilot
- The early intervention with young people starting to use DFSV – pilot is targeted at young people (or adolescents) aged 11-17 who are starting to use violence within a DFV context, including in intimate partner relationships, in recognition of a service gap for this cohort. This refers to situations where adolescents use violence and/or sexually abusive behaviours in the home, and/or in intimate partner relationships
- Stream Two: Early intervention innovative partnership grants
- The early interventions innovative partnership grants funding will be provided to fund projects or activities that deliver early interventions in a partnership approach to support people at risk of experiencing or committing DFSV.
- Stream One: Early intervention with young people starting to use DFSV – Pilot
Funding Information
Stream One
- Three grants of up to $333,000 (GST exclusive) per year for four years are available (total up to $1.333 million per grant over the grant period).
- The grant period is for 48 months, from 1 July 2023 to 30 June 2027
Stream Two
- Four grants of up to $253,125 per year (GST exclusive) for two years are available (total up to $506,250 per grant over the grant period). Funding is non-recurrent.
- The grant period is for 24 months, from 1 July 2023 to 30 June 2025.
What can’t be funded
- Grant funding cannot support:
- any project of a political party nature;
- any project of a commercial or business nature;
- set-up or running costs of a business, purchase of capital equipment (including hardware or software);
- retrospective funding for projects, functions, services that have already started or have been completed or items that have already been provided or previously purchased;
- projects by organisations established for profit or financial gain or increased membership;
- projects that duplicate existing services available to the community;
- deficit budgets;
- real estate purchases;
- the purchase or development of any infrastructure;
- unreasonable management or administration fees of the organisation; and
- other items that the panel assesses as not meeting the aims/objectives of the funding.
Eligibility Criteria
- To be eligible to apply for an Early Interventions Grant, applicants must be operating in the Northern Territory and be either:
- a not-for-profit or charitable organisation as defined by the Australian Charities and Not-forprofit Commission (ACNC);
- an incorporated association;
- an Indigenous Corporation as listed on the Office of the Registrar of Indigenous Corporations (ORIC); or
- a Northern Territory local government authority.
- Organisations based and operating in the Northern Territory are able to partner with other organisations or individuals that may or may not operate within the Northern Territory.
