Focus Areas
- Indigenous Voices
- Indigenous voices have been marginalized for too long by a genocidal and ecocidal system that has led them to the brink of climate catastrophe and the sixth great extinction.
- They support Indigenous communities’ ongoing fight for a livable future where all the relations are respected.
- Regenerative Agriculture
- Mitigation alone is no longer enough; they will need to draw carbon out of the atmosphere. One of the best ways to do this is by transforming agriculture.
- They support farming practices that help, rather than hurt, ordinary people and the environment.
- Climate Intersections
- Climate change intersects with and exacerbates existing injustices.
- They aim to highlight the connections between climate change and struggles for racial justice, gender equality, freedom of movement, and self-determination.
- Sustainable Visions
- They need an affirmative vision of how political and economic life can work for everyone, including non-humans and future generations.
- They offer support for projects that help them envision a path to a better future.
- Youth Activism
- Young people will have to live with the impacts of the climate crisis. Because of this, they have both the understanding and the moral authority to lead on this issue.
- They work to support youth climate activists in various ways.
Funding Information
- Grants from $200 to $20,000 are available.
Eligibility Criteria
- All funds must be disbursed through an existing US-based nonprofit.
- Because they have a small staff and receive a large number of applications, it can take up to three months from the application deadline to receive a decision.
- They request that you use your own words for your application. Plagiarism and use of AI to write your application will result in disqualification. They are happy to accept applications that have been translated by machine translation services such as Google translate, but ask that you please note this in your application.
