The Ecclesiastical is currently inviting applications for the Community Impact Grant to provide support to registered Canadian Charities.
The grant was established in 2017 and is used to help provide funding to programs focused on supporting the communities.
Ecclesiastical will award the Community Impact Grant to specific programs that make a positive and sustained impact on the community, by benefiting youth, vulnerable and under-represented people, or by supporting the communities unique cultural programs.
Funding Information
- Grants vary in size and are typically between $10,000 and $25,000. There will be consideration provided to awarding grants in larger amounts based on program focus and need.
Eligibility Criteria
- The Community Impact Grant program is national in scope and is open to Registered Canadian charities whose mission aligns with Ecclesiastical’s values and deep-rooted commitment to “Greater Giving” — helping people in need and making a measurable impact on the communities.
- Grant applications go through a rigorous review and vetting process. their national Volunteer Committee, comprised of staff from across Canada, carefully review and assess all applications and submit their recommendations to the Canadian Grant Giving Committee, consisting of senior Ecclesiastical staff and Chaired by an external member.
- Each grant application is assessed against the following success criteria:
- The scale and impact of the program
- The program’s potential for long-term sustainability and success
- The program’s innovation, creativity and inclusion
- The organization’s ability to measure results and provide outcomes
- The program’s cost-effectiveness and long-term financial soundness
- The program’s diversity and inclusion
Exclusions
The following exclusions apply:
- Non-registered or de-registered charitable organizations
- Organizations not based in Canada
- For-profit organizations or ventures
- Organizations that are politically or philosophically partisan
- Applications made within three years of a previous grant being approved or before an existing grant is acquitted
- Single individuals
- Grant-making institutions
- Requests submitted for completed projects
- Fundraising events, annual funds, galas, and other special-event fundraising activities
- Retrospective or deficit funding/debt retirement
- Competitive sports teams, raffles, and giveaways.
