The Maine Community Foundation is offering Edward H. Daveis Benevolent Fund grant program to support early childhood and youth leadership programs in Greater Portland.
The directors of the fund recognize the critical roles parents and early childhood education providers play to ensure a child’s readiness to enter school on a path to success and the importance of youth leadership programs that help develop aspirations and abilities of the youth.
Type of Funding
This program provides:
- General support grants for ongoing programming and operational needs
- Project grants for new or expanding early childhood or youth leadership-based projects or programs.
Funding Information
- Award Size Normally, grant awards do not exceed $7,500. It is the intention of the advisors to fully fund requests, as possible. Collaboration Collaboration between and among organizations is encouraged.
Eligibility Criteria
- Nonprofit, charitable organizations tax-exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and also classified as an organization described in sections 509(a)(1) or 509(a)(2)
- Municipalities
- Public schools
- Public agencies working for the State of Maine
- Indian tribal governments (or political subdivisions) recognized by the Department of the Interior
- Groups without any tax status may apply with a fiscal sponsor that is an eligible organization.
