The Lancaster County Community Foundation (LCCF) is seeking applications for the Equity & Inclusion Program.
CBOs will participate in a 9-month learning journey embedding equity practices to foster transformational growth and maximize community impact. The monthly workshops will offer opportunities for deep organizational and team self-reflection through an equity lens. The timeline includes a guided internal equity audit to identify areas of need and/or growth, office hours with workshop facilitators, plus much more!
Funding Information
Grants of $25,000, $150,000 in total funds.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applications must come from current 501(c)(3) community benefit organizations (CBOs) registered with (or exempt from) the PA Bureau of Charitable Organizations, have an audit or financial review (less than 12 months old), a current Form 990 and provide a Non-Discrimination Policy meeting all federal requirements as it applies to your type of organization. Projects must benefit residents of Lancaster County. CBOs may not receive grants from the same Equity & Inclusion Grant for more than 3 consecutive years.

Eligibility for funding is determined based on due diligence and assessment of the following:
- Provide your organizational Non-Discrimination Policy meeting all federal requirements as it applies to your type of organization
- Align with the Community Foundation’s Anti-Hate policy
- Serve Lancaster County residents without discrimination
- Current 501(c)(3) designation from the IRS
- Registered with the Pennsylvania Bureau of Charitable Organizations unless otherwise exempt per the Institutions of Purely Public Charity Act
- Complete IRS Form 990 Annually
- Annual Audit or a financial review by an independent CPA within the last 12 months
- In good standing with all existing awards and contracts with the Lancaster County Community Foundation
Ineligible
- Creation of a new organization
- Schools
- Capital campaigns/capital costs (equipment, building costs, maintenance)
- Political campaigns
- Expenses incurred before the grant is awarded
- Cemetery associations
- Religious causes that further a specific belief/agenda
Evaluation Criteria
- Commitment to DEI – Does the organization describe a clear commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI)?
- Challenges – Has the organization described current challenges regarding equity and inclusion substantially? Is the organization intentional with identifying examples of those challenges?
- Vision and Desire – Does the application clearly describe their desire and vision with respect to DEI?
- Goals and Results – Does the application clearly articulate the organization’s desired DEI goals and results?
- Cohort Experience – If chosen, how will this organization contribute and gain from the 9-month experience?
