The EU initiative “Mayors for Economic Growth” launches a grants competition to support local authorities’ efforts to respond to the crisis and to recover.
Local authorities from Moldova, members of the Mayors for Economic Growth (M4EG) initiative, funded by the EU and implemented by UNDP, will benefit from grants awarded by the European Union. The call aims to support the crisis immediate response, so as long-term recovery of Moldovan local public authorities, including support to Ukrainian refugees, throughout 2022-2023.
Funding Information
The proposals should cover one of the two aspects:
- Response & Immediate Recovery – funding range for each proposal: EUR 30,000 – 50,000 (no co-financing required). It intends to support the immediate needs of people (refugees) whose houses, jobs and businesses were destroyed or affected by the war and small-scale restoration of infrastructure and services.
- Renewal & Anticipation – funding range for each proposal: EUR 70,000 – 100,000 (at least 20% co-financing required). This aspect aimed at to support local authorities impacted by the war to get on track with their sustainable development pathways and lay foundations for economic recovery, future sustainable growth and modernization of cities and communities.
Eligibility Criteria
- Members from Ukraine and Moldova (local authorities) are eligible to apply.
- Local public authorities interested in participating in the call should be part of the M4EG network.
- Applications are accepted only through an online form in Romanian or in Russian.
