Financial Allocation and Size of Grants
- Indicative allocation of funds by lot:
- Lot 1 – Enhancing CSOs contribution to accountability and fight against corruption: 1.200.000 EUR (allocation 2016)
- Lot 2 – Enhancing LAs’ contribution to accountability and fight against corruption: 600.000 EUR (allocation 2017)
- Lot 3 – Inclusive participation in the political system: 1.700.000 EUR (10th EDF)
- Lot 4 – Countering harmful practices and discrimination: 1.700.000 EUR with a pooling of funds of the allocations 2015, 2016, 2017.
- Any grant requested under this call for proposals must fall between EUR 300.000 and EUR 600.000
Eligibility Criteria
- In order to be eligible for the grant, the lead applicant must:
- be a legal person and
- be non-profit-making and
- be a civil society organisation (CSO) and
- be established in Tanzania or in a Member State of the European Union or of the European Economic Area or in a developing country as included in the list of ODA recipients and
- be directly responsible for the preparation and management of the action with the coapplicant(s) and affiliated entity(ies), not acting as an intermediary
- For Local Authorities
- be a legal person and
- be non-profit-making and
- be a local authority or association of local authorities and
- be established in Tanzania or in a Member State of the European Union or of the European Economic Area or in a developing country as included in the list of ODA recipients and
- be directly responsible for the preparation and management of the action with the coapplicant(s) and affiliated entity(ies), not acting as an intermediary
- The lead applicant must act with at least one co-applicant
- Lead applicants established in a country other than Tanzania must act together with at least one applicant or co-applicant established in Tanzania and the action must include a capacity building component.
- The lead applicant and its co-applicant(s) may act with affiliated entity(ies) that include:
- Entities directly or indirectly controlled by an applicant (daughter companies or first-tier subsidiaries). They may also be entities controlled by an entity controlled by an applicant (granddaughter companies or second-tier subsidiaries) and the same applies to further tiers of control;
- Entities directly or indirectly controlling the applicant (parent companies). Likewise, they may be entities controlling an entity controlling the applicant;
- Entities under the same direct or indirect control as the applicant (sister companies)
How to Apply
- The application procedure consists of two phases:
- Concept Notes
- Full Applications
- In the first instance, only concept notes must be submitted for evaluation. Thereafter, lead applicants who have been pre-selected will be invited to submit a full application.
- To apply to this call for proposals organisations must register in PADOR and submit their application in PROSPECT as indicated on the website.
