The Auckland Council is seeking applications for its Revitalizing Town Centers Programme to help revitalise and increase economic activity in its local town centres.
Local initiatives, events and activations encourage and contribute towards building thriving town centres.
Funding Priorities
- They welcome grant applications that align to the following priorities:
- Promoting economic development in the town centres and strengthening their roles as community hubs.
- Celebrating the heritage and cultural diversity of Their communities.
- Building capacity and empowerment in the community.

- Community
- Environment
Funding Information
- $5000 – $30,000
Outcomes
- Their EOI process will support the following outcomes:
- Revitalising town centres.
- Neighbourhood or community events or activations in the town centre.
- Beautification of town centres.
- Business development workshops that benefit local business owners.
- Mentoring on strategic thinking and planning for business associations.
- Safety initiatives.
- Building kai resilience around town centres.
- Cultural reflection of communities within the local board catchment area.
Eligibility Criteria
- Community groups, social enterprises and business associations who intend to deliver activities in the Māngere-Ōtāhuhu local town centres.
- Higher Priorities
- A higher priority will be given to projects/activities:
- That offer digital literacy and capability especially to young people and disabled paricipants
- That promote safer communities
- That are free of alcohol, drugs, and smoking (ind. vaping)
- That offers healthy food alternatives, including water as the first choice
- The encourage an active lifestyle
- That demonstrate waste minimization
- That are tree-planting initiatives and/or address climate change
- A higher priority will be given to projects/activities:
- Lower Priorities
- A lower priority will be given to applications:
- That are ticketed events
- That request to cover for wages or operational costs
- That support the purchase of, or maintenance associated with, motor vehicles
- That request for equipment or items for one-off events
- That benefit a third party (e.g. activity to gain money for an organisation)
- That are outside the Mangere-Otahuhu Local Board area
- That are eligible and can be funded by central government
- A lower priority will be given to applications:
