Deadline: 31-Aug-20
The Fanak Fund has launched the Zodeh Fund for Consolidation Grants Program.
In the context of international mobility and exchange of artists and cultural operators, Fanak Fund is offering a funding line to consolidate artistic teams in the MiddleEast and Arab-speaking countries (including Turkey and Persian countries).
This funding line aims at consolidating cultural and artistic organisations and/or artists collectives operating in the Arab-speaking and Middle Eastern geographical zone and developing local projects (venues, networks, platforms).
The grants provided will not exceed 3000€ and can be considered as cofunding depending on the projects selected. This fund is open for organisations, artists collectives and independents cultural managers based in the Arab-speaking Middle Eastern world and who have been operating for at least two years.
The aim of this Fund is to stabilise projects in their local environment, enabling them to be recognized and develop their networking capacities. The experts and Board members of Fanak Fund will monitor the selected projects during their implementation. The funds provided must be used within two years, unless agreed otherwise.
Fanak Fund and its partners hope that this fund can serve to strengthen projects that emerge following the benefits of a travel grant and at the same time support the financial autonomy of local independent cultural initiatives.
Applications can be made in Arabic, English and French.
Eligibility Criteria
This programme aims at consolidating cultural and artistic organisations and/or artists collectives operating in the Arab-speaking and Middle Eastern region including Turkey and Persian speaking countries, and developing local projects (venues, networks, platforms).
If you would like to apply for the Consolidation Fund, you must respect the following criteria:
- Applications can be made in the name of a cultural or artistic organization or an artists’ collective operating already for 2 years. Only small or medium organisations whose annual budget does not exceed 20 000€ are eligible. Support will not be provided to public or semipublic organisations.
- The applicant (organisation, collective, manager) must be based in the Arab Middle East geographical region, including Turkey, Persian speaking countries.
- Age and nationality are not eligibility criteria of this Fund.
- Organisations or collectives concerned by contemporary artistic disciplines are eligible: performing arts, all forms of visual arts, literature, music, architecture, design, fashion, crafts and cultural policy research. Humanitarian aid or school/university projects are not eligible to this Fund.
- The applicant must explain how the organisation will develop in the long term and how its presence will contribute to local cultural development and the emancipation of populations. Sustainability implies any action that will allow the organisation or its activities to last (human resources, buying equipment, renovating a space or any other operational cost). Support to artistic production can be provided only if this production can prove “sustaining” effects. However, a consolidation grant does not fund production costs of artistic works.
