The Fayette Community Foundation is inviting applications for its Strengthen the Community Together grants program to enhance the quality of life and make a positive, lasting impact on the Fayette County community.
The Foundation operates without discrimination as to age, race, religion, gender, national origin, disability or that perceived as a disability in consideration of grant requests.
Likewise the Foundation does not knowingly support programs that negatively discriminate based on the aforementioned factors.
Funding Areas
- Community Betterment
- Health and Human Services
- Public safety
- Elderly services
- Children & youth services
- Family services
- Education
- Community education on relevant issues
- Educational opportunities for local charities
- Collaborative school projects/programs
- Youth programs
The Foundation does not fund:
- Operating deficits
- Operating Support (Salaries)
- Annual fund campaigns
- Propaganda, political or otherwise, attempting to influence litigation or intervene in any political affairs or campaigns on behalf of any candidate for public office so as to endanger the charitable nature of the community trust
- Public school services required by state law
- Standard instructional or regular operation costs of non-public schools
- Repeat funding of projects previously supported by the Foundation
- Purchase a house or facility
- Individuals
- Travel purposes
- For profit organizations
- Any purpose not in conformity with the IRS constraints placed on the Foundation
- Sponsorship of events / pass through funding / offsetting costs of memberships or activities
- Programs or projects that do not support the current mission of the Foundation
- Applicants without a physical location, mailing address, or chapter located within Fayette County
Eligibility Criteria
- The Foundation invites all IRS designated charitable organizations including: charitable 501(c)(3) status organizations, schools, churches and units of government in and serving Fayette County to apply for grants.
- Organizations ineligible to apply on their own, such as service clubs, neighborhood associations, etc. may partner with one or more eligible organizations to propose collaborative programs.
- For such programs, the eligible organization will act as fiscal agent and project leader for any funds awarded to the work of the collaborative project.
- The Fayette Community Foundation does not award grants to individuals.
- Churches and other religious entities are eligible to submit a request for funding as long as the project does not mandate participation in a religious activity as a condition for receiving services.
