The Arts Promotion Centre Finland (Taike) is offering COVID-19 Grants for Artists and Professionals in the Culture and Creative Sectors.
These grants are intended for the applicant’s own work or for the resumption of creative work and activities in a situation where the applicant has lost work opportunities or been prevented from practicing his or her profession.
The grant can be used, for example, to maintain professional skills, to plan resumption activities, for practicing, for artistic or creative work, or for activities that support these.This support is not available to applicants:
- who are working during the same period on a state artist grant or other working grant awarded by Taike for a period of at least four months
- who have received a supplementary state artist pension
- who have a full-time, monthly paid job.
Funding Information
- The amount of each grant is 6000 euros, which is intended to support three months of work during the period 1.9. – 31.12.2021.
- Other paid employment during the grant period is permitted. As a general rule, an unemployment allowance or labour market subsidy is not paid during the grant period.
- Grants awarded for artistic activities are tax free.
Evaluation Criteria
- Professionalism of the applicant: The applicant’s description of previous activities in the art, culture and creative sectors.
- Working plan: The applicant’s plan for working on the grant. This work may involve, for example, maintaining professional skills, planning resumption activities, practicing, artistic or creative work, or other similar activities.
- Reduction in work and income due to the COVID-19 pandemic: The applicant’s clarification.
