The Flight Centre Foundation is inviting applications for its Giving Grants Program.
The 2022/23 Giving Grants program will fund charities focused on creating pathways to employment and/or tangible jobs for vulnerable or disadvantaged community groups who may be experiencing barriers to mainstream employment. Flight Centre Travel Group employees are passionate about empowering vulnerable people, through employment, and drive the grants program by vetting and voting for the charities they wish to support.
Giving Focus
The Giving Grants 2022/2023 will distribute grants to DGR-1 registered charitable organisations under one or more of the following key themes:
- Creating tangible job opportunities and placements for vulnerable people
- Creating clear pathways to employment for vulnerable people
- Charitable organisations operating as an employment-focused social enterprise, with the social mission to create employment or employment pathways for people with barriers to mainstream employment
Funding Information
- The available funding is $15,000. There is potential for five separate charities to receive a $15,000 grant.
Eligibility Criteria
- Be a not-for-profit organisation with Deductible Gift Recipient 1 (DGR1) status from the Australian Taxation Office.
- Be able to show evidence of an effective existing program creating a pathway to employment or job placement.
- Be able to measure and report on your program’s outcomes.
- Be an Australian based organisation with charitable operations, programs and jobs created and located within Australia.
- Obtain less than 70% of your annual income from government sources
- Annual revenue under $5M
Selection Criteria
- Does this organisation, or program, produce positive social and economic outcomes for disadvantaged groups or individuals?
- Does this organisation have the capacity (e.g. staff, volunteers, resources etc.) to deliver the outcomes?
- Is the program delivery plan clearly defined with aim, strategies, need, outputs, and outcomes?
- Does this organisation align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 8 – Decent Work & Economic Growth, which directly affects the following SDG’s, below?
- SDG 1 – No Poverty, 2- Zero Hunger, 3 – Good Health and Wellbeing, and 9 Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure
Exclusions
- Grants will not be awarded to or for: individuals; political parties; government entities; commercial sponsorships; sporting groups; religious groups; retrospective requests; debt retirement, budget deficits, endowments or bequest programs; or general fundraising appeals.
