The Philadelphia Foundation is seeking applications for its Forman Family Fund Grants to supports Greater Philadelphia nonprofits serving young people aged 11 to 18 offering in-school or out-of-school-time programs that address one of the following areas:
- Photography
- Architectural Drawing and Architecture
- Written Arts
Funding Information
- Up to 10 grants of no more than $40,000 each are awarded annually.
Types of Projects Funded
- Direct program expenses
- Staff time
- Materials and supplies
- Indirect expenses (up to 15% to total grant amount)
- Transportation, meals and field trips for participants
Program Requirements
- Be open to all young people ages 11 to 18;
- Be curriculum-based;
- Be offered for a minimum of one semester, with preference being given for year-long programs;
- Have been operating for at least two years with a proven track record;
- Be focused on written arts or in the specific visual arts of photography, architecture, or architectural drawing.
Eligibility Criteria
- Curriculum-based program at least one semester in length (preference for year-long programs)
- Program must have been operating for at least two years with a proven track record
- Applicants to the Forman Family Fund will fit under the following criteria for eligibility:
- The organization is located in and/or serves constituents within the five-county Philadelphia region.
- The organization has been certified as tax exempt under section 501(c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code; or is collaborating with an experienced fiscal sponsor with a 501(c) (3) IRS exemption;
- The organization is not a private foundation;
- If the organization is a religious institution, it may only apply for nonsectarian activities;
- The organization has adopted a nondiscrimination policy including race, color, religion, national origin, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, disability, or any other legally protected characteristics.
