The Organisations Fund 2022 – 2025 is a key part of Queensland Government investment in the arts and cultural sector. The program provides multi-year operational funding to Queensland-based organisations that demonstrate a critical role in the sector and that contribute to Queensland’s cultural profile.
Through this program, Arts Queensland provides the foundational investment that enables key companies across the State to deliver artistic outcomes, employ creative and cultural workers, and engage communities to deliver on the priorities mentioned below.
Objectives
The Fund seeks to support a diverse portfolio of arts and cultural organizations that demonstrate a critical role in Queensland’s arts sector. The Fund’s objectives are to:
- Support artistic achievement and ambition.
- Create and grow employment opportunities within the sector.
- Foster the development of artists and arts workers, and enhance career pathways.
- Enable new opportunities for the development of, and engagement with, Queensland stories and storytellers.
- Broaden access to high-quality arts experiences for new and existing audiences.
- Promote entrepreneurial and future-focused business operations.
Priorities
The Fund will underpin the achievement of the priorities set out in Creative Together 2020 – 2030, including to:
- Elevate First Nations arts.
- Activate Queensland’s local places and global digital spaces.
- Drive social change across the state.
- Strengthen Queensland communities.
- Share their stories and celebrate their storytellers.
Funding Information
- Band 1: from $60,000 up to $100,000 per annum (for small or emerging organizations)
- Organizations supported under Band 1 may be more experimental or innovative in scope or delivery model, and can include a range of legally constituted companies.
- Funding provided under Band 1 seeks to support both emerging organizations and those that are new to multi-year funding.
- Band 2: from $100,000 upwards (for not-for-profit arts and cultural organizations)
- Funding provided under Band 2 will support established or larger scale organizations that can demonstrate a strong capacity to deliver against a strategic plan, a substantial program of activity including developing new works, and meet a number of Queensland Government priorities.
Eligibility Criteria
The arts sector consists of a diversity of organization types and business structures, and the Fund eligibility criteria reflect this across two funding bands.
- Band 1 Applicants seeking funding under Band 1 must:
- be a legally constituted Queensland-based arts or cultural organization at the time of application, with a primary or strategic focus on the delivery of high-quality arts products and services.
- have an Australian Business Number (ABN) in the name of the applicant.
- demonstrate two years of high-quality artistic programming or services prior to application.
- have satisfied the reporting requirements of any previous Arts Queensland funding.
- Band 2 Applicants seeking funding under Band 2 must:
- be a legally constituted Queensland-based not-for-profit organization with a primary or strategic focus on the delivery of high-quality arts products and services.
- have been legally constituted for at least 2 years prior to application.
- have an Australian Business Number (ABN) in the name of the applicant.
- demonstrate at least two years of high-quality artistic programming or services prior to application.
- have satisfied the reporting requirements of any previous Arts Queensland funding.
