The Women’s Fund of Georgia is announcing a grant competition for women’s labor rights financially supported by the Danish Knowledge Center for Gender and Equality.
The purpose of the grant competition is to support initiatives that serve to empower women, raise awareness and advocate for women’s labor rights, and change policies, practices, views, and attitudes related to these issues.
The aim of the competition is also for women working on this topic: Encourage the collective work of human rights defenders, create an informal, discussion space and foster solidarity.
Thematic Areas
Preference will be given to social change -oriented initiatives in the context of women’s labor rights. The thematic areas of the grant program include, but are not limited to:
- Awareness raising: individual labor rights, collective labor relations, solidarity, freedom of association, strike, mediation, etc.
- Creating informal discussion spaces for women to increase their involvement in cities and villages
- Unpaid labor and care economics
- Increase awareness of the concept and value of recreation
- Gender inequality in the labor market – structural causes and policies, Mechanisms for the protection of women’s rights and the fight against discrimination
- Creating primary trade unions and increasing their visibility through media campaigns
- Advocacy for parents of persons with disabilities, single mothers, and flexible working schedules for stony families, Identify and respond to problems in care work
- Overcoming gender discrimination and stigma in the field of employment
- Challenges related to maternity leave payment and ways to respond
- Advocating for access to employment for ethnic minorities
- Support for analytical, investigative journalism on labor rights and safe labor
- Harassment and sexual harassment in the workplace
- Monitoring the implementation of international obligations and standards in local legislation and other initiatives to eliminate existing shortcomings
Funding Information
The maximum grant amount is 5800 Euros. Duration of projects 5 months.
Eligibility Criteria
The following can participate in the grant competition :
- Local registered NGOs for women and trans people;
- Organizations working for women, trans people, or labor rights and led by women;
- Women and trans people organizations with a budget of no more than $500,000.
