The International Organization for Migration (IOM), the UN Migration Agency, Representation in Ukraine, as part of the project “Solutions in the field of human security in Ukraine”, financed by the Government of Japan, invites Ukrainian micro and small businesses to participate in the grant program.
The main goal of the grant program is to support target communities in becoming more resilient to the consequences of war by restoring jobs and production, as well as meeting the population’s demand for critical goods and services.
Funding Information
- Microenterprises – the maximum amount of the grant is 7,000 dollars. USA in hryvnia equivalent at the UN exchange rate.
- Small enterprises – the maximum amount of the grant is 20,000 dollars. USA in hryvnia equivalent at the UN exchange rate.
- IOM plans to provide grants to 12 small and 18 micro-enterprises.
What can grant funds be spent on?
- Purchase of specialized equipment, tools (except used ones) necessary for production/processing and other activities of the company;
- Premises rent (up to 4 months);
- Repair and arrangement of premises (in particular, purchase of furniture, racks, etc.);
- Salary (up to 4 months) and expenses for creating additional jobs;
- Purchase of raw materials for the production process (up to 50% of the grant amount);
- Transportation of equipment / personnel;
- Other relevant activities.
- CANNOT be used to purchase vehicles.
- All activities must be planned for up to 4 months.
Eligibility Criteria
- Micro- and small enterprises that were relocated from other regions or operate in Kyiv (without the city of Kyiv), Chernihiv or Poltava regions;
- Registered at least 1 year before the application date;
- Registered in Ukraine and owned by citizens of Ukraine.
- Microenterprises
- Employs less than 10 people
- Enterprises that will create at least 1 new job thanks to the grant
- Small businesses
- Employs 10 or more people
- Enterprises that will create at least 3 new jobs thanks to the grant
- All applications that meet the requirements will be considered. Priority will be given to:
- war-affected, damaged, destroyed and displaced enterprises;
- enterprises that provide their communities with critical goods or services;
- enterprises that employ representatives of vulnerable categories of the population or demonstrate other positive social impact on the community.
- Organizers will contact only selected applicants.
Ineligible
- Grants will not be given to enterprises from the following sectors:
- Production or trade in weapons and ammunition;
- Production or trade in alcoholic beverages;
- Production or trade in tobacco products;
- Production or trade in radioactive materials;
- Manufacture, trade or use of loose asbestos fibers;
- Production or trade in pharmaceuticals;
- Production or trade of pesticides / herbicides, taking into account international phase-outs or bans;
- Medical institutions and pharmacies.
