The Women’s Fund in Georgia is seeing applications for its grant program to support women affected by the war.
In response to the war in Ukraine, the “Women’s Fund in Georgia” continues targeted activities to support Ukrainian and Belarusian women civil activists in Georgia, who had to leave the country due to life threats or the authoritarian regime. The financial supporter of the program is the Urgent Action Fund.
Thematic Areas
- The thematic areas of the program may include:
- examining the needs of internally displaced persons from Ukraine, taking into account gender aspects;
- psycho – social rehabilitation services;
- strategies for getting rid of collective trauma – healing practice;
- holistic security, including digital security;
- to create a space for socialization;
- expanding networks of supporters, including service providers, feminist and human rights organizations;
- challenges related to housing;
- equipping with the necessary resources for independent life, promoting employment, education and integration (professional education, training courses);
- raising feminist awareness among Ukrainian and Belarusian activist groups operating in Georgia;
- sectoral cooperation between scientists, journalists, activists and artists on issues of feminism, anti-war movement and environmental protection;
- other.
Funding Information
The maximum amount of the grant is 5000 USD, the duration of the projects is 6 – 8 months.
Eligible Projects
- The Women’s Foundation welcomes projects focused on social change that include:
- Considering the principles of intersectional feminism;
- creating safe spaces for feminist and queer activists;
- support/raise the voices of marginalized groups;
Eligibility Criteria
- The following can participate in the grant competition:
- Women’s non-governmental organizations registered in Georgia that will work with Ukrainian and/or Belarusian women’s groups.
- Within the framework of the competition, the Women’s Fund will support the following projects:
- performed by women/queer people;
- whose direct and ultimate beneficiaries are women/queer people;
- Priority will be given to initiatives that focus on the rights of marginalized groups (women with disabilities, queer people, rural women, ethnic and religious minorities, etc.)
