The Women’s Fund of Georgia has announced a grant competition “Protection of Women’s Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights”, which is financially supported by the Swedish Association for Sex Education RFSU.
The grant competition aims to support initiatives aimed at empowering women,raising their knowledge and skills on sexual and reproductive health and rights issues,changing existing policies,practices,views and attitudes towards these issues, as well as sexual orientation. Strengthening and protecting the network work of women rights activists .
The Women’s Fund welcomes social change -oriented initiatives in the areas of sexual and reproductive health and right.
Priorities
The priority areas of the grant competition are :
- Empowering women and girls, promoting networking through their direct participation and leadership

Increasing women and girls’ access to reproductive health services/raising awareness/knowledge production/disseminationAdvocacy/lobbying(including budget advocacy), conducting advocacy campaigns with the involvement of various stakeholders(parents , guardians , sexual partner, social workers, police officers, etc)
- Advocacy/lobbying(including budget advocacy), conducting advocacy campaigns with the involvement of various stakeholders (parents, guardians, sexual partners, social workers, police officers, etc)
- Conduct research on women’s sexual and reproductive health and rights
- Raise the sensitivity of decision makers on sexual and reproductive health and rights issues. Provide networking with decision makers and service providers
- Strengthen public/community monitoring and accountability systems(including budget monitoring)
Thematic Directions of the Program
The thematic directions of the competition include , but are not limited to :
- Access to comprehensive sex education;
- Access to stigma-free contraceptive information and services (including emergency contraception);
- Access to stigma -free information and services related to abortion;
- Prevention and treatment of STIs;
- Prevention and follow-up of sexual and gender -based violence;
- Identify,document and respond to cases of sexual and reproductive rights violations and discrimination against women and girls;
- Protection of the reproductive/sexual rights of groups of women who experience several forms of discrimination;
- Empowerment of young women and girls.
Funding Information
- The grant amount is 40 000 GEL.
- Maximum project duration: 12 months.
Eligibility Criteria
- Locally registered women ‘s NGOs;
- Organizations working on women ’s issues and led by women;
- Women’s organizations whose budget is smaller than the budget of the Women’s Fund;
- Women’s organizations from the capital and regions of Georgia , as well as regional or international organizations based in Georgia and operating in Georgia.
