UN Women is seeking responsible parties to implement a project on “strengthening the capacity of CSOs and women’s rights organizations to influence policy process and evidence-based advocacy’ focused on organizations working on issues of vulnerable groups of women.
The organization/s will deliver a comprehensive program that will enhance the capacity CSOs and WROs to advocate for and influence policy and decision-making processes on the rights, representation and benefit of vulnerable groups of women.
Main Tasks
- Conduct training needs assessment amongst CSOs and women organizations and association working on the issues of vulnerable groups of women to design tailored capacity building trainings including on evidence-based advocacy.
- Conduct capacity building trainings for representatives of WROs and CSOs working on the issues of vulnerable groups of women on evidence- based policy advocacy.
- Organize policy dialogue platforms with key stakeholders working in the area on selected thematic areas the rights and representation of vulnerable groups of women
- Prepare and disseminate policy briefs on selected thematic issues on the rights and representation of vulnerable groups of women
Funding Information
- The proposed intervention size and budget request must fall between a minimum indicative amount of USD 35,000 and a maximum amount of USD 38,000. Budget proposals should be submitted in ETB. All currency exchanges will be calculated using the UN Operational Exchange Rate as per the deadline of submission.
- The project will commence upon signature of Partner Agreement between selected organization/s and UN Women ECO and will end after August 2023 with a possibility of extension.
Project Target
The geographical focus of the project will have a national coverage. However, organizations may propose to focus on the Federal level and selected regions depending on where CSO/s have programmatic interventions.
Qualifications
- Legally constituted organization with a valid registration in Ethiopia.
- Experience in undertaking capacity building initiatives is mandatory.
- Experience in engaging in community-based initiatives, projects, and programmes.
- Experience working on the issues of vulnerable women and girls (particularly women with disabilities, women engaged in prostitution, women living with HIV, young women and adolescent girls
- Experience in supporting national and global planning processes, conducting policy dialogues, and engaging in evidence-based advocacy and lobbying is considered as an advantage.
- Experience in results-based project management.
- Previous working experience with United Nations is highly desirable.
