UNDP is calling for proposals to Build Roster of CSOs, NGOs, Local Contractors in Cameroon.
UNDP will ensure on-going scoping: “A strategic analysis of the comparative advantages of organizations on the ground and mapping of their strengths and weaknesses that facilitates the identification of appropriate partners” of the NGO/CSO space. As part of setting up a database of local actors and in order to provide opportunities for ownership of the public space , bottom linked citizen participation and engagement in public affairs, the SWR Recovery Programme is initiating a campaign to attract interested CSOs/NGOs that share its vision and approach of finding long-term sustainable solutions within the context of the on-going socio-political crisis in the SW and NW Regions of Cameroon.
The government of Cameroon and UNDP collaborated in the formulation of the Presidential Plan for Reconstruction and Development (PPRD) of the North West (NW) and South West (SW) Regions. The PPRD feeds into the government’s efforts to resolve the current crisis. It is against this backdrop that UNDP has engaged in recovery activities in both regions. The objective of this plan is to strengthen institutions and processes that facilitate peacebuilding and resilience through the following three pillars:
- Strengthening social cohesion
- Rehabilitation of damaged infrastructure
- Revitalization of the local economy
Expected Results
- Establish institutional capacity of NGOs/CSOs in the SWR, identify capacity gaps of existing CSOs/NGOs and explore areas of feasible capacity building initiatives.
- Establish a roster of CSO/NGOs for effective implementation of RP Activities in the SWR.
- Establish of a mapping of NGOs/CSOs corresponding to the 3 RP Pillars.
- Ownership of a Recovery Programme network of NGOs/CSOs as distinct from the ones fully engaged or purely involved in humanitarian activities.
- Contribute to UNDP 5Ws accurate reporting within the context of the RMWG (Risk Management Working Group).
- Conduct strategic selection of CSOs/NGOs whenever the need arises for the implementation of project activities or specific component, including provision of specific inputs and/or delivery of agreed outputs.
- Identify well positioned CSOs/NGOs with specific local knowledge and experiences that will be beneficial to the Recovery Programme.
Target
Legally constituted and fully registered CSOs, NGOs, Community based-groups, Youths Associations, and others.
Eligibility Criteria
- Administrative criteria
- Justify the legal existence as a CSOs, NGOs, Community based-groups, Youths Associations, and other in south west region of Cameroon;
- Have the legal personality for the exercise recognized by the Government or Administrative Authorities in south west region;
- Have an office with minimum basic facilities
- Copy of bank Attestation
- Location plan of office
- Technical criteria
- Have at least minimum 3 years of experience in the region
- Justify with elements, report, conventions or contracts with others organizations, donors, activities photos, provide evidence
- Have a technical and coaching staff with the qualifications (expertise required) in accordance with the mission of the CSOs, NGOs, Community based-groups, Youths Associations (Add the list of members, CVs, and diplomas)
- Experience with national, international and donor organizations
