UN Women now invites proposals from qualified proponents to improve the safety, health, and wellbeing of women and girls and as part of ensuring the sustainability of agricultural value chains in India.
The partnership will contribute contribute to the knowledge area under the Sustainable Agricultural Supply Chains Initiative which is funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and UN Safe Cities and Safe Public Spaces.
Funding Information
The budget range for this proposal should be [INR 26,64,000 – INR 33,30,000].
Outputs
- Report on the implementation of all the new labour laws and legal frameworks facilitating new learning on the issue of Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) in the tea sector.
- Dissemination of this research to advocate for strengthened response mechanisms particularly focusing on response and recovery from the pandemic, including access to justice for survivors of violence
- Report on review/evaluation of the project in accordance with the UNW evaluation policy to understand the projects contribution to the project outcomes.
Eligibility Criteria
- Qualifications of the Organisation
- The agency should have at least five years of experience in conducting large scale primary and secondary research on issues of gender equality, women’s empowerment, public finance management, and/or gender responsive governance focused in India and at the state level. It is desirable that the agency has research experience in gender responsive planning and budgeting in India.
- The agency should have a national presence and preferably state presence, with proven experience and /or outreach and knowledge of local language of the proposed states highly desirable. Proven experience of working with central and state Governments, other development and UN agencies would be an asset.
- Organisations which are registered in India as non-profit organizations with above mentioned background and experience will be eligible.
- Qualifications of Key Personnel
- The team members (including Team Leader) must have at least 5 years of experience and offer the following demonstrated experience, knowledge and competencies:
- Master’s degree in social science, development studies, gender studies or any other related and relevant studies for this assignment,
- Members of the team must have specialization in research, law and gender, social development and women’s rights.
- Recent experience with gender equality issues and knowledge of mainstreaming gender equality into policies/programming/development.
- Sound understanding of human rights-based approaches.
- Facilitation skills, particularly design of qualitative and stakeholder consultations.
- Strong quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis skills.
- Excellent analytical skills and communication skills.
- Demonstrated writing skills in English
- Good understanding of Assamese language.
