The Gympie Regional Council is offering grants under its Recovery grants program to support Recovery and Resilience.
Purposes
- Recovery, Wellbeing and Resilience: To support communities in choosing their response to the loss, anxiety and distress they have experienced as a result of severe weather and flooding events.
- Get Local Community Grants: To support communities impacted by the effects of COVID-19 and natural disaster to deliver activities and events that enable social connectedness and recovery.
Priorities
- Recovery, Wellbeing and Resilience
- Promote wellbeing and healing among community;
- Strengthen social connectedness and assist communities with the recovery process;
- Engage population groups less likely to seek out traditional mental health services;
- Raise awareness of, and access to, available recovery services.
- Get Local Community Grants
- Increase community connection, sense of belonging and community wellbeing through the delivery of a range of small-scale community events and activities;
- Activate public and community spaces (e.g. halls, parks, community facilities);
- Provide free or low cost events and activities for the community to participate in;
- Support local musicians and entertainers;
- Where practical, stimulate the local economy through use of local contractors and/or suppliers.

- Recovery, Wellbeing and Resilience: Maximum grant amount $40,000
- Get Local Community Grants: Maximum grant amount $1,500
Eligibility Criteria
Council’s Community Grants Program is open to applications from community organisations that:
- Are an incorporated not-for-profit community organisation, or have an auspice arrangement with an incorporated not-for-profit community organisation (including not- for-profit cooperatives and companies limited by guarantee)
- Hold $20M public liability insurance and other forms of insurance relevant to the project (see Insurance Coverage for External Parties Policy)
- Have no outstanding debt with Council
- Are based in, or provide direct benefits to, the Gympie region.
- In addition, eligible applicants to categories delivered as part of Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) include:
- Individuals over 18 years of age (applicants under 18 years of age must nominate an auspice organisation to administer the grant on their behalf)
- Businesses that provide creative or cultural services.
