The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is seeking applications for grants to support New Investigators in Conducting Research Related to Preventing Interpersonal Violence from Impacting Children and Youth.
The purpose of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention National Center for Injury Prevention and Control (NCIPC) Mentored Research Scientist Development Award (K01) is to provide support for an intensive, supervised (mentored) career development experience in violence prevention research leading to research independence.
The intent of Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) RFA-CE-23-003 is to contribute to the development of new researchers in the field of violence prevention. By providing resources to new investigators, they can develop and conduct research that addresses NCIPC's interpersonal violence prevention research priorities and acquire new skills.
Goals
NCIPC's overall goal is to increase the number and diversity of experienced violence prevention research professionals available to conduct independent violence prevention research. The purpose of this research grant program is to support the development of new researchers who have not yet served as a contact PD/PI on a specified major CDC or NIH research award and address NCIPC's violence prevention research priorities for interpersonal violence impacting children or youth from birth through age 17. These research priorities include cross-cutting violence prevention; adverse childhood experiences; child abuse and neglect; youth violence; intimate partner violence (teen dating violence); and sexual violence.
