The Gratiot County Community Foundation is interested in funding projects which will improve the quality of life for the citizens of Gratiot County. The Foundation aims to support creative approaches to community needs and problems which will benefit the widest possible range of people.
Funding Information
- Grants of $10,000 or more will receive a 50% advance distribution at the time the grant is awarded.
Eligibility Criteria
- Eligible projects generally fall within the following categories: community development, arts and culture, environment, education, health and wellness, social services, youth projects, recreation and improvement in the physical, mental and moral conditions of Gratiot County residents.
- The Foundation will accept grant applications from the Gratiot County area. Applications from outside the County will only be considered if adequate funds are available and a significant number of persons from Gratiot County will be served.
- Applicants shall be non-profit tax exempt according to Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
Requirements
The following must be attached to the application:
- A membership list of the applying organization’s governing board;
- Letters of support for the program [Include at least one letter from another official (Department Head, Board President, Principal, etc.) within your organization and no more than three other letters to demonstrate community support.]; and
- A copy of the IRS determination letter confirming 501(c)(3) tax status (if other than school, church or government agency).
