They welcome grant applications that align to the following priorities:
- Neighbourhood centres foster a sense of identity and place.
- Arts, events and cultural activities reflect their many heritages.
- They enable innovation and enterprise.
- People know each other and feel connected in their neighbourhoods.
- Strong community organisations are making a difference.
- They embrace and value diversity and difference.
- Mana whenua and mataawaka rights are acknowledged and their needs and aspirations are widely known.
- People are more active.
- Their parks and recreation services provide a range of accessible experiences for their diverse community.
- Their community facilities are well-used and flexible in meeting community needs.
- People are central to maintaining their environment.
- The water quality of their streams and tidal areas is improving.
- Biodiversity is increasing.
Funding Information
Amount: $500 – $2000
Outcomes
Their grants programme will support the following outcomes:
- A network of vibrant and beloved urban neighbourhoods.
- A thriving local economy that supports their quality of life.
- Communities that know each other and work together on common interests.
- Community facilities are vibrant and welcoming places at the heart of their communities.
- It is easy to get around without a car.
- Natural spaces are valued and restored.
Eligibility Criteria
- community organisations with a formal legal structure
- groups or individuals with no formal legal structure can apply for up to $1,000 (Kaipatiki Local Board will not fund individuals)
- applicants seeking funding over $1,000 will need to nominate an umbrella organisation or
- receive funding retrospectively
