The Herbert A. and Adrian W. Woods Foundation is accepting applications for its Grant Program to support charitable organizations primarily in the greater St. Louis, MO area.
The Herbert A. and Adrian W. Woods Foundation is dedicated to the founders’ interests in charitable organizations that serve:
- Abused, neglected or troubled children
- The poor
- The Episcopal Church & affiliates, including outreach program.
- Art and culture in the Metropolitan St. Louis area
- Animal welfare (in Missouri)
- Victims of illness or disability, including research in this area
Type of Support
- Some foundations have restrictions on the type of support (operating, program, etc.) that can be provided. The majority of grants are 1 year in duration.
- However, to better support the capacity of nonprofit organizations, some of the foundations will consider multi-year funding requests.
Guidelines
- The Trustees will consider the donor’s past giving history and any special needs of any of the charities she has given to in the past. The Trustees will also consider requests from charitable organizations that fall into one or more of the categories defined.
- The following types of requests may be submitted.
- Special projects
- Capital campaign requests. However, capital grants are awarded only as a source of support among a broad community of funders.
- Challenge or matching grants
- General operation funding
- The following types of requests will not be considered.
- Multi-year grants (pledges)
- Endowment creation and funding
