International Information and Networking Centre for Intangible Cultural Heritage in the Asia-Pacific Region (ICHCAP) is inviting young professionals from the Asia-Pacific Region for its five month’s program titled- Cultural Partnership Initiative. The main objective of the program is to enhance international exchange in the ICH field by inviting young professionals from the Asia-Pacific region. The participants have an opportunity to build their skills in ICH safeguarding by participating in a variety of detailed projects—individual research, ICHCAP project participation, field trips, and an expert workshop.
Objectives
The key objective of ICHCAP’s CPI program is to strengthen regional network among ICH experts. So the main objectives are to:
- strengthen participants’ abilities in ICH safeguarding by providing them opportunities to participate in various projects—individual research, ICHCAP project participation, field trips, and a workshop)
- contribute to building networks in the field of ICH safeguarding in the AsiaPacific region and expand collaborative opportunities in partnership with ICHrelated organizations
Benefits
Financial support will be provided as follows:
- Airfare: Round-trip international flight tickets (economy class) (Visa fee is not included)
- Accommodations: A room per person for the duration of the stay (5 months)
- Living expenses – KRW 900,000 per month (approximately USD 750)
- (it will be deposited into the participant’s Korean bank account once a month)
- Program expenses Korean language course (200 hours) and cultural field trips.
- Medical insurance
Eligibility Criteria
- Young professionals in the ICH field from the Asia-Pacific region are invited to participate in this program. Preferred candidates are researchers, specialists, or university (college) professors in the field of ICH safeguarding.
- Specific qualifications to participate in the program are as follows. The participant should:
- be fluent in spoken and written English have at least five years’ research or working experience in the ICH field (or relevant cultural field)
- be between 30 and 45 years of age.

- Certificate of English proficiency (preferred)
