The City of Victoria is pleased to invite applications for the International Decade for People of African Descent (IDPAD) Youth Grant to support and empower Black youth.
Purpose

The purpose of the IDPAD Youth Grant program is to create opportunities for youth of African descent. Eligible programs could include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Youth-led programs that benefit youth of African descent
- Programs that create safe gathering spaces and build confidence and self-empowerment including navigating systemic racism
- Development of a Black Youth Council
- Opportunities to learn about educational, scholarship and career opportunities.
Funding Information
- Up to $8000 will be awarded. The grant funding must be used, and the project or program completed, within one year of receiving the grant.

Eligibility Criteria
- Individuals of African descent, informal community groups and non-profit organizations led by people of African descent that serve youth of African descent. Individuals and informal community groups will need to complete a section of the application form that demonstrates
- They are representative of and supported by their community.
Criteria
The grant program provides opportunities for youth of African descent to:
- Create safe spaces for youth of African descent to gather
- Deliver youth-led programs or programs that benefit youth of African descent
- Deliver programs that build confidence and self-empowerment, including navigating systemic racism
- Create a black youth council
- Learn about educational, scholarship and career opportunities.
