Deadline: 9-Aug-22
Applications are now open for the Impact100 Sydney’s Major Grant that will be awarded to a not-for-profit to develop and implement practical solutions that support communities experiencing vulnerability as a result of poverty, disability, mental illness or social exclusion.
Funding Information
- The goal this year is to double the fundraising target to $200,000 and award two major grants of $100,000 each. It’s ambitious, but with the members’ support, they believe they can achieve it.
Eligibility Criteria
- They accept applications from charitable organisations that:
- have both Deductible Gift Recipient 1 (DGR1) and Tax Concessional Charity status (TCC) from the Australian Taxation Office.
- have an annual revenue under $5 million (excluding pro-bono and in-kind)
- conduct projects within Greater Sydney and that benefit Sydney-siders.
- Applications are welcome from charities from all states and territories of Australia.
- They especially encourage organisations that are developing partnerships with other community organisations to apply.
The Grant Application Process
- Impact100 Sydney is a giving circle, which provides members with opportunities to get involved in choosing the focus of the philanthropy and selecting the organisations who receive the grants. Every year, many members participate in the grant assessment process, which is led by the Committee.
- The Committee provides the grant assessment process and supporting systems and ensures that the grant applications are assessed objectively and rigorously, under the auspices of the Sydney Community Foundation.
- Overview of the grant application process:
- Eligible organisations submit an Expression of Interest short application.
- The members assess the grant applications using a common set of selection criteria developed by the Committee. Eight organisations are shortlisted and invited to submit a more detailed application.
- The members conduct virtual site visits (video conferences with representatives from the applicant organisations).
- The members select four finalists to pitch at the live Grant Event. Members vote to select the major grant recipient. Depending on the total funds raised, they may also award smaller grants to the three semi-finalists.
