Applications are now open Inclusive Education Support Grant (IESG) to support not-for-profit, non-government organisations working with children with disability to improve their access to and engagement in education.
Student Wellbeing and Inclusion Programs and Services (SWIPS), on behalf of the Department of Education (the department), is able to provide non-government organisations with grants where they provide targeted services and programs to children with disability. Services or programs could include:
- assessments and early intervention services
- access to specialist treatment, therapies and management services
- equipment, aides and access to specialist technology to access education
- supporting children to access education where there may be barriers
- programs to navigate transitions into and during different stages of education
- programs which support wellbeing and opportunities to develop skills.
While the focus of the IESG is children with disability, within every new round of grants the department will identify priority areas to receive funding. The key focus areas for the cycle beginning January 2023 are organisations that provide services or programs to children with the following disabilities:
- vision impairment
- hearing impairment
- mental health conditions, in particular, anxiety, depression and eating disorders
- Autism Spectrum Disorder
- Down Syndrome
Funding Information
- Grants up to $100,000 per annum per program or service are available.
- Organisations will receive funding on an annual basis for 3 years or from January 2023 until the end of 2025.
Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for an IESG, organisations must be able to demonstrate that they:
- are a not-for-profit, non-government organisation that provides a program and/or service that supports children with disability* to access and engage in education
- have an ABN (Australian Business Number)
- have no overdue reporting requirements including financial acquittals relating to any other NT Government grant
- currently hold, or have applied for, public liability insurance with a minimum cover of $10 million per event.
