The Kingdom of Sweden has announced the proposals for an Integrated program to Support Decentralization, Local Governance, and Development Planning.
Objectives
- The overall objective of this call for project proposals is to select and award grants to three civil society organizations based in the different areas of intervention of the project in order to implement a package of interventions focused on capacity building in local governance, citizen participation, transparency and citizen control of the populations in the targeted ETDs.
- Specific objectives
- Specifically, this will be:
- Carry out civic education activities, based on the universal values of respect for human rights, patriotism, acceptance of difference, promotion of peace;
- Promote the networking of community-based organizations (women and young people) and their training for participation in local governance bodies and citizen control;
- Support the operation, monitoring and animation of the commissions of local peace and development committees in their various missions by integrating cross-cutting gender, humanitarian, peace and development issues;
- Support the identification, organization, training, and creation of opportunities for income-generating activities for young people and women;
- Foster the creation of synergy and innovative partnerships for the implementation of project activities at the local level.

Expected Results
The following results are expected:
- More than 2,000 young people informed about citizenship, based on the universal values of respect for human rights, patriotism, acceptance of difference, promotion of peace;
- Six networks of community-based organizations (women and young people) are operational for participation in local governance bodies;
- Local associations are able and committed to participating in the preparation of local development plans;
- Religious leaders are identified and trained;
- Synergies and innovative partnerships for the implementation of project activities at the local level are created.
Eligibility Criteria
For the purposes of this call for projects, only non-governmental organizations are eligible. However, they must meet the following selection criteria:
- Be a structure Be based in one of the Kasaï central, Tanganyika and Kongo central pilot provinces ( Cfr point 8) and attest to this by official recognition documents,
- Demonstrate proven expertise in the field of governance, decentralization and development planning in the province for which they have applied
