Deadline: 28 February 2019
KEEN is seeking applications for its Effect Youth Grants Program to support projects that bring together different groups of children and youth through outdoor adventures, environmental awareness and nature education.
The KEEN Effect Youth Program creates experiences and outdoor values that shape the future of children and adolescents for a long time.
By selecting programs that bring diverse audiences of children outside for adventurous recreation, environmental stewardship, and nature-based education, the KEEN Effect Youth program is actively building a future full of formative experiences that build lasting outdoor values defined during childhood.
They are discovering and funding the best grassroots organizations developing youth (age 18 or under) in the outdoors worldwide. The grantees are growing environmental literacy in youth by breaking down the silos of outdoor activities, embracing creativity and ingenuity in their programming, and addressing urgent conservation needs while diversifying the demographic imbalances of today’s outdoor participant (such as identities like race, sex, gender, & ability).
Applicable projects are conducted by 501(c)3 non-profits (or local equivalent) that inspire youth outdoor participation, engage diverse audiences, are innovative and creative in their approach, and are willing to collaboratively share the story of their work through KEEN.
