The Kildare Sports Partnership Grant Program aims to increase participation in sport and physical activity among all persons in County Kildare.
This 2025 Grant Scheme aims to support new and existing clubs, coaches and volunteers to develop greater participation among target groups as reflected in the Kildare Sports Partnership Strategy 2022-23.
Focus Areas
- Applications are now invited for initiatives that will increase participation in sport and physical activity, with an emphasis on the following areas:
- Women in Sports
- Projects should focus on attracting new female members/participants and encourage their ongoing participation. Projects must demonstrate potential long-term sustainability and how they relate to the provision of sport or physical activity opportunities among girls and women.
- People with Disabilities
- Projects should focus on attracting new members/participants among children and adults with a disability and encourage their ongoing participation. Projects must demonstrate potential long-term sustainability and how they relate to the provision of sport or physical activity opportunities for people with a disability.
- Training & Education
- Applications should aim to provide relevant and accredited training courses for volunteers and coaches within the club/organisation. This training should seek to increase the capacity to deliver in your club/organisation and develop inclusive opportunities and structures in helping to provide sport and physically activity for all.
- Coaching & Training Aids
- Applications under this category aim to provide funding for coaching and training equipment. Equipment needed in the rollout of Physical Literacy and foundation level programmes will be prioritised.
- Women in Sports
Eligibility Criteria
- To be eligible, organisations/clubs must:
- Operate as a ‘not for profit’ club/organisation
- Have a primary objective of sport or physically active recreation and have policies and practices that encourage participation regardless of gender, age, race or ability
- Have a club/organisation Bank/Credit Union account as payments, if successful, will only be made to this account
- Be registered with County Kildare Public Participation Network (PPN). The PPN allows voluntary groups including sports clubs/organisations to interact with Kildare County Council and to give the public a mechanism to participate in the “Wellbeing” of their local area and the county and its people.
Ineligibility Criteria
- The following are not eligible to apply:
- Groups governed by a non-sporting body. eg: Scouts/Dance schools etc.
- Government funded bodies/state agencies. eg: Youth Services/Family Resource Centres etc.
- Local residents’ associations
- Individuals
- National/regional/county governing bodies/ statutory agencies
- For profit groups/commercial organisations/ private facility owners.
