Deadline: 29-Aug-22
In support of this novel approach, the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation is launching Knight New Work 2022, a month-long call for proposals for works by Miami and South Florida artists and arts organizations that leverage technology to foster meaningful connections between people and place.
Funding Information
The initiative will allocate a total of $500,000 for new works by a selection of winners. Applications will be reviewed by a national panel of artists, practitioners and Knight Foundation staff.
Outcomes
Knight Foundation becomes synonymous with digital transformation in the arts by supporting the application of technology. Digital transformation will bring about the following outcomes:
- Arts practitioners move seamlessly between digital and physical spaces;
- Arts practitioners apply technology to attract, retain and grow audiences;
- Art produced using technology is exhibited, critiqued and preserved.
Eligibility Criteria
- Individual artists, artist collectives and arts organizations of all artistic genres are eligible to apply. Individuals must be based in South Florida, or have direct ties to the area.
- Organizations must be based in South Florida in order to apply. They can partner with individual artists from outside the area, provided that those individuals can demonstrate a deep connection to South Florida. All pieces must premiere in South Florida.
- A South Florida-based arts organization, or an arts institution can submit an application. The creation of new work can be in any artistic genre, but must use technology in the creation and/or dissemination of the work.
