Deadline: 22-Sep-23
The Cheshire Community Foundation is seeking applications for Knutsford Community Fund to support people living in the Longridge and Shaw Heath areas of Knutsford.
There are stark extremes made clear in the latest data on income, living standards, education, employment, community, opportunity and quality of life in different parts of Knutsford. Some parts of the town are ranked among the 30% most deprived areas of England, according to the Index of Multiple Deprivation.
As well as experiencing financial deprivation, people here may also be impacted by inequity of access to other resources, opportunities and access to services and support. More than one in five children are living in poverty in these areas. The proportion of people needing support from unemployment benefits or Universal Credit is way the national average, and a similar proportion of working age adults can’t work due to poor health.
Using learnings from its first years of grant-making and additional insights from research with local people by Great Places, their Knutsford Fund is firmly looking forward.
Theme: Reducing the impact of disadvantage and creating greater equity of opportunity
Priorities
- It’s focusing on this longer-term funding for work which supports people living in the Longridge and Shaw Heath areas of Knutsford, against the following priorities:
- Older people: preventing debt and loneliness, or supporting older people to feel digitally included and with access to services
- Children and young people: raising their aspirations and creating opportunities to join positive social activities
- Reducing the impact of health inequalities for people of all ages: supporting people with disabilities or those experiencing drug or alcohol addiction; the impact of poor diet or sexual health issues
- Reducing the impact of food and fuel poverty for people of all ages
Funding Information
- Maximum grant size: £10,000 – with the potential to apply for a further £10,000 in 2024 for projects which are able to demonstrate their success against the programme criteria and a clear plan for their project’s next steps.
- Project duration: up to 12 months
Criteria
- Whatever your proposal, you must be able to make the clear connection between the activities you will deliver under one or more of the priorities, and the short and long-term outcomes of those activities for reducing the impacts of inequity for people living in the Longridge or Shaw Heath areas of Knutsford.
