The EU-supported Akhmeta Local Development Group (LAG) has announced the first phase of a grant competition to fund projects that will contribute to the local development of the municipality.
Action Against Hunger, in partnership with the Kakheti Regional Development Fund (KRDF), supports the Akhmeta LAG, a project supported by the European Union’s Rural and Agricultural Development Neighborhood Program (ENPARD), “Promoting Inclusive and Participatory Local Development” in Akhmeta Municipality.
The purpose of the grant competition is to support the implementation of the Akhmeta LAG Local Development Strategy goal of “Improving the quality of life and economic development in Akhmeta Municipality.
Priorities
To achieve this goal, the Local Development Group (LAG) has identified three priorities:
- Improving public infrastructure and the environment through public-private and civil-sector cooperation
- Developing the local economy by promoting self-sufficiency in agriculture, business and tourism
- Strengthening the social sector Social By improving infrastructure and citizen engagement

Eligibility Criteria
You can apply for a grant:
- Citizens of Georgia (18 years and older)
- Legal entities (businesses) registered in Georgia (applicant can Apply on behalf of a business with no legal status, however grant Before receiving funding, it must be registered)
- Non-governmental organizations
- Legal Entities of Public Law of Akhmeta Municipality (LEPL)
- Informal community groups
- Project submitted by the applicant:
- Must be implemented in Akhmeta Municipality.
- Must comply with Akhmeta LAG strategy and meet the strategy even One activity.
- Fit within the allowable grant amounts
- Have the required co-financing.
