Lake Macquarie City is now accepting applications for its Women in Sport Festival.
The Lake Mac Women in Sport Festival will be held 4-12 March 2023. It is funded in partnership with NSW Government through the Stronger Country Communities Fund. Expanding on the International Women’s Day celebrations, the Women in Sport Festival is a week-long celebration of women in sport, tied together by four themes, empowerment, advocacy and power, athletic excellence, community and support.

Categories
- Sponsorship of competitions, tournaments, knockouts and championships for women: Funding is available for sporting clubs and associations to organise and host competition events during the Lake Mac Women in Sport Festival.
- Propose an idea to us:
- Funding is available for local sports clubs, community groups and wellness facilities to deliver an introductory come and try session, coaching or masterclass across the week. Requests under this category could also be funding towards adventure activities, wellbeing escapes, or personal development experiences.
- They expect the applicants would use the funding to assist in delivery and/or participation of the activity, e.g. providing the event for free or for a reduced fee, purchasing equipment that enables first-timers to try the activity, enabling inclusive participation.
- Free Stallholder space at the Try a Sport Family Day: They encourage you to provide an interactive activity/game all the family can participate in.
Funding Information
- They’re offering grants up to $1000 for local sports clubs, community groups and wellness facilities to open up their doors and activities to share their offering with a wider resident audience.
Eligibility Criteria
- Sponsorship of competitions, tournaments, knockouts and championships for women.
- Your organisation will:
- Hold the event within 4-12 March 2023
- Name the sponsored competition, tournament, knockout or championship “Lake Mac Women in Sport XXX” or acknowledge the sponsorship.
- Provide details of the event for promotion as part of the festival program.
- Provide logos and details of the organisation for inclusion on marketing materials and website.
- Share festival information on social media and any other channels the organisation uses.
- Complete a risk assessment, ensuring Public Liability compliance as required.
- Attend and host an interactive stand at the Try a Sport Family Day to be held Sunday March 5.
- LMCC will:
- Provide the allocated funding amount of the sponsorship.
- Provide LMCC logos for inclusion in marketing materials and website in relation to the sponsored event.
- Include details of the event as part of the festival program.
- Promote the funded event through the festival’s promotional channels.
- Provide a stallholder space at the Try a Sport Family Day to be held Sunday March 5 from 10am-2pm.
- Your organisation will:

- Utilise the funding to assist in delivery and/or participation, e.g. providing the event for free, purchasing equipment that enables first-timers to try the activity.

- Share festival information on social media and any other channels the organisation uses.

- Provide a free unpowered 3x3m space at Speers Point Park.
- Include your organisation name and stall location in the Try a Sport Family Day program.
- Promote the event through the festival’s promotional channels.
