Deadline: 05-Oct-20
The Leeds Building Society Foundation primarily provides funding towards practical items that directly support those in need including those with disabilities, affected by homelessness, or with serious health issues.
Since 1999 the Foundation has donated more than £2,000,000 to 3,000 local projects and good causes across the UK, which support those who are disadvantaged or in vulnerable circumstances.
The Foundation receives funding from Leeds Building Society and from member donations via the ‘Your Interest in their scheme’. It is run independently by a board of six trustees who review applications every quarter.
Eligibility Criteria
- The Foundation will only accept applications from UK registered charities with a turnover of less than £1m.
- Donations usually fund items of “capital expenditure”. That means items must directly help those in need, rather than contributing to the charity’s running costs.
Ineligibility Criteria
The Foundation is unable to support:
- Religious, military or political projects
- Charities based overseas
- Individuals (including sponsorship)
- Animal welfare projects
- Medical research
- Administrative costs including salaries, rent or promotional materials
- General fundraising appeals

- You don’t need to have an account or mortgage with the Leeds Building Society to apply for funding.
