The Light Regional Council is pleased to announce the Community Infrastructure Grant Program to promote and support the establishment of strong, sustainable clubs and volunteer organisations throughout the Council area.
The Community Infrastructure Grants program aims to fund infrastructure projects that help Council achieve its Strategic Plan objectives, with a primary focus on creating Community vibrancy, through advocacy and maintenance of community services and enhanced public facilities.
The program is available to community and sporting groups to assist with co-funding infrastructure projects that have a focus on health and wellbeing, access and inclusion, community participation (including safety and risk reduction) and environmental sustainability.
Funding Information
- A maximum grant of $20,000 per project applies.
Eligible Projects
- This includes infrastructure that supports any recreational sport and cultural activities including projects that:
- build new infrastructure in response to an identified community need;
- upgrade or improve existing community infrastructure;
- improve accessibility of community facilities to increase use and promote inclusion.
Eligibility Criteria
- To be eligible for Community Infrastructure Grant funding, applicants must:
- Be a not-for-profit organisation based (or primarily operating) within the Council area; and
- Be an incorporated body, or auspiced by one; and
- Provide an ABN (Australian Business Number) or complete a declaration (if the group or organisation does not have an ABN); and
- Confirm that the project, program or activity will be undertaken within the Council area and fits into one or more of the following categories:
- Health and wellbeing;
- Access and inclusion;
- Community participation (including safety and risk reduction);
- Environmental Sustainability.
Ineligibility Criteria
- The following activities are not eligible for funding under the Community Infrastructure Grant program:
- Projects that are not infrastructure based (e.g. Plant or Vehicle purchases, Furniture and Fittings, Office Furniture and Land purchases);
- Projects which have already been commenced or completed prior to grants being awarded;
- Routine or ongoing operating and/or maintenance costs (staff wages, rent, electricity, water, insurance, repayment of financial loans, etc.);
- Projects that are located outside of the Light Regional Council area;
- Applications from individuals (unless acting on behalf of a not-for-profit organisation) or businesses;
- Applications from organisations that are not incorporated, or otherwise have no satisfactory auspice arrangement in place.
