Deadline: 06-Sep-21
The Leeds Community Foundation is offering grants for Local Care Direct Health and Wellbeing Fund to improve the health and wellbeing of residents across Bradford, Leeds and Wakefield.
The Foundation is particularly keen to play a role in reducing health inequalities through this funding programme and applicants will need to demonstrate how their work does this. Two year grants are available for organisations supporting people whose health and wellbeing are negatively affected by mental health issues, isolation or deprivation.
The grants should be used to support people who are experiencing difficulties, which could include those with diagnosed mental health conditions, or be about prevention to avoid early symptoms worsening, or more general support around mental health and wellbeing. It might also be used to fund outreach to encourage people to access services and reduce stigma. The grant may also be used for those who are affected by isolation, for instance by organising activities or providing emotional support to improve social networks and connections. Or the grant may be used for projects that focus on those who are living in, or have been affected by deprivation and may include projects that support people with financial and economic planning.
The Foundation will prioritise third sector organisations who understand local needs and are connected to their communities in either Leeds, Bradford or Wakefield. Grants can support existing work, capital costs or be for new project ideas that meet identified gaps.
