The Welsh Government Connected Communities is accepting applications for its Loneliness and Social Isolation Grant Fund has allocated £12,000 in total, to build capability and sustainability of front line grass roots voluntary and community organisations that bring people together and help them build social connections.
This revenue-only Fund aims to support proposals which tackle loneliness and social isolation. The overall aim is to increase opportunities for people to connect, create cohesive and supportive communities and supporting connected communities.
Priorities
- Proposals MUST demonstrate a need for revenue funding in alignment to the following criteria:
- They must be for services or activities which tackle loneliness and social isolation and bring people together to create social connections.
- They must be for services or activities which support mental or physical wellbeing.
- Projects will also be expected to show how the proposal fits with one or more of the Welsh Governments Connected Communities Loneliness and Social Isolation strategy’s four priority areas:
- increasing opportunities for people to connect
- a community infrastructure that supports connected communities
- cohesive and supportive communities
- building awareness and promoting positive attitudes.
- They must be services or activities which equip communities or individuals to support themselves, their families and their communities, building on community assets and mobilising volunteers as appropriate.
- They must be for New Services or Additional Services or Revised Delivery or support the Recovery of services (this can include supporting the re-opening of services, supporting services which have been affected by limited fundraising activity).
- The services must respond to an identified need in the Vale or part of the Vale.
- This grant is only available once so applications must be able to demonstrate how the initiative will be able to be sustained following its use.
Funding Information
- Organisations can apply for a maximum of £2000. There is no minimum amount.
Eligibility Criteria
- To be eligible for this funding, groups or organisations must:
- Be a third sector member organisation of GVS or willing to become one.
- Be based in, and/or represent, serve and support people in the Vale of Glamorgan.
- Demonstrate that the proposal is clearly to the direct benefit of the residents and communities of the Vale of Glamorgan.
- Be a non-profit organisation or social enterprise.
- Be non-party political.
- Applicants must submit a copy of a recent bank statement with their application, clearly showing the charity bank account name, account number and sort code.
- Applicants must submit a copy of their constitution with their application.
