The Suffolk Community Foundation is pleased to launch the Men’s Mental Health Community Fund to improve men’s mental health, to reduce the risk and incidence of suicide amongst men in high risk groups throughout Suffolk, with priority given to projects in the following areas; Brandon, Newmarket, Ipswich, Leiston and/or Stowmarket.
Community groups, charities, social enterprises and organisations that support men’s mental health and suicide prevention are invited to apply. Applications should be for:
- Work that supports men of all ages where there is an emerging risk, or;
- Work supporting men in high-risk groups including those
- In the care of Mental Health Services, including inpatients
- With a history of self-harm
- In contact with the Criminal Justice System
- Working in specific occupations such as the construction industry, rural or agricultural sectors
- Other at-risk groups – BAME, LGBTQ, Veterans, Homeless and rough sleepers, Survivors of domestic/sexual abuse
Funding Information
- Grants of up to £5,000 are available. Match funding is desirable but not essential.
Criteria
Applicants need to have:
- a management committee of at least three members
- a governing document/constitution which includes a dissolution clause
- a bank account with two unrelated signatories living at separate addresses, who must both sign for all withdrawals
- an equal opportunities policy
- annual accounts and management accounts less than 6 months old
- relevant safeguarding policies, if you are working with young people or vulnerable adults.
