Deadline: 30-Sep-21
Chronus has announced the applications for Mentoring for Racial Equity Grant Program to enable people to learn from one another break down barriers and foster skills and knowledge that can propel individuals to future success.
They all want to believe that hard work is enough to propel someone, regardless of their demographics or background, to a successful future. Sadly, that is not the world in which they live. Racism is a systemic issue that permeates every aspect of their culture. Without intentional interventions, inequities will remain. What can they, as a mentoring software company, do that would create real and lasting change? They realized that they could do what they’ve always strived to do—support impactful mentoring programs via software and services—but specifically for organizations that are working diligently to seek racial equity and justice.
The basic, human need to connect has always brought people together, even in times of social and physical distancing. Now more than ever, it’s imperative that organizations work to build systems for connection, kinship and understanding for the people they serve. With the help of mentoring, they believe people can see greater success no matter their challenges or obstacles.

Judging Criteria
Eligible submissions will be evaluated by a panel of judges selected by us. Judges may include Chronus employees and may change before, or after the Entry Period. Judges will score eligible submissions using the following criteria:
- impact (positive impact on the Black community, Indigenous community and/or other communities of color; likelihood to positively impact racial equity and/or justice in society) (60%);
- infrastructure (strength, background and commitment of the team that will be running a mentoring program utilizing Chronus software; a well-structured plan for how to utilize mentoring to impact racial equity and/or justice) (30%); and timing (ability to integrate Chronus in existing program or launch new program within year 1 of the contract term) (10%).
- Each criteria will be weighted as set forth and evaluated on a scale from 1 (no impact, no infrastructure, no ability to launch within the first year, etc.) to 5 (high impact, best possible infrastructure, can launch quickly, etc.). The eligible submissions with the highest cumulative scores will become the presumptive winners of the Contest. In the event two or more eligible submissions receive tying scores, the panel of Judges will vote on the tied eligible submissions to determine the winner.
