The National Youth Council has launched the SPARK Mini-Grant Scheme to support youth arts taster workshops for young people aged 10 to 25 in youth work and non-formal education settings – sparking young people’s interest in new art forms and ideas as well as supporting new working relationships with local artists.
Focus
- The SPARK mini-grant scheme will focus on promoting active youth participation and Inclusion! Organisations and young people are encouraged to embrace these themes in their application by considering actions such as:
- Prioritising inclusion by working with young people from marginalised or minority backgrounds.
- Collaborating with an artist from a marginalised or minority background.
- Developing their active youth participation strategies through their proposed youth arts workshop, ensuring young people are central to decision-making in planning, delivery and evaluation.
- Exploring the concept of active youth participation and what this means to young people through their youth arts workshop.
Funding Information
- Grants of €300 are available
Eligibility Criteria
- In selecting successful grant applicants, NYCI Youth Arts Programme will prioritise applications which:
- are submitted from organisations in the youth work or non-formal education sectors with a compliant Child Safeguarding Statement.
- support youth arts workshops for young people aged 10 to 25 to work collaboratively with an artist to experience new art forms and develop their ideas.
- address the priorities of active youth participation and/or working with young people and artists from marginalised or minority backgrounds
- engage with a diverse range of arts mediums and achieve a geographical spread across the country.
