Deadline: 13-May-22
The Newcomen Collett Foundation has announced Grants for schools and other organisations.
Priorities
-
Grant making priorities are:
- Helping schools and other groups to buy equipment for the benefit of children.
- Supporting extra curricula activities for children and young people. For example, school trips, after school clubs, holiday clubs, uniformed organisations.
- Helping organisations which provide educational opportunities to schools and colleges in the Borough of Southward. For example, visiting theatre companies and musicians.
Purposes
-
The charitable purposes of Newcomen Collett Foundation are:
- Relieving children with learning difficulties attending the Newcomen Centre at Guy's Hospital.
- Making yearly payments to the Parish School of the Cathedral Church of St Saviour and St Mary Overie, Southwark towards the rent, alterations and repairs to the premises of the School.
- making payments to any other Church of England Voluntary Aided School in the London Borough of Southwark towards the rent, alterations and repairs to the premises of the School.
- Promoting education of persons under the age of 25 years resident in the London Borough of Southwark.
Funding information
- They will usually visit organisations to ensure that the scheme is viable. However, with only £100,000 a year to give in grants, it is unlikely that they will ever fully support a project, and involvement of other grant-giving bodies is usually needed.
- They give grants to schools for equipment and extra-curricula activities. And they give grants to organisations who provide educational opportunities to schools in Southwark. We are unable to guarantee continuing support to projects, and for this reason, are unwilling to take responsibility for funding the cost of salaries and administration. ADD THIS At last because we do not end on funding.
