The Next Generation Programme aims to support initiatives that enhance the capacities and participation of youth and youth organizations in Nepal.
Culture, creativity, digital, and sports serve as key vehicles for the EU to engage, empower, and connect with Nepal’s young generation. By leveraging these sectors, the initiative seeks to:
- Develop skills and foster personal, social, and economic growth for youth.
- Contribute to social inclusion, gender equality, job creation, and the preservation of Nepal’s vast cultural diversity.
- Build upon previous EU collaborations with civil society on governance, education, climate action, gender equality, and human rights.
Objectives
- The global objective of this call for proposals is to strengthen the European Union partnership with Civil Society actors in Nepal, as independent actors of good governance and development in their own rights in Nepal
- The specific objective of this call for proposals are:
- To support civil society initiatives that promote Nepali youth engagement through culture and creativity. (Lot 1 Youth in Culture and Creativity)
- To support civil society initiatives that enhance Nepali youth engagement and inclusion through sports, with a particular focus on girls and marginalized young people. (Lot 2 Youth in Sports)
- To support civil society initiatives that equip young women and men in Nepal with the skills and knowledge needed for success in a digital world and job market. (Lot 3 Youth in Digital)
Priorities
- The priorities of this call for proposals are:
- Voice: Grassroots initiatives that create inclusive spaces and empower underrepresented youth and women and explore difficult themes (such us mental health, gender-based violence, civil and political rights, socio-cultural and economic rights etc). Initiatives can include optional integration of digital tools to increase accessibility and participation and initiatives on policy dialogue.
- Innovation: Initiatives that support sector innovation, support networking and development of capacities, generate learning and skills, focusing on youth and women.
- Job Creation and social Impact: Initiatives that promote socio economic impact for youth and can promote partnerships with other productive sectors, generate youth employment and entrepreneurship and facilitate access to finance.

- The overall indicative amount made available under this call for proposals is EUR 3 836 000.

Duration
- The initial planned duration of an action may not lower than 36 months nor exceed 48 months.
Eligibility Criteria
- In order to be eligible for a grant, the lead applicant must:
- be a legal person and
- be non-profit-making and
- be a specific type of organisation such as: non-governmental organisation; and
- be effectively established in a Member State of the European Union or in Nepal or in any countries eligible for NDICI – Global Europe 2021-2027
- be directly responsible for the preparation and management of the action with the co-applicant(s) and affiliated entity(ies), not acting as an intermediary, and
- be allowed to implement activities in accordance with the Nepalese legal provisions and
- have considerable experience in the priority areas of the Lot for which they are applying.
