The Nillumbik Shire Council is seeking applications for its Seniors Festival Grants Program to a number of one-off grants to celebrate the Victorian Seniors Festival 2021.
Aims of the Grant
- To recognise and celebrate people over 55 in the Shire of Nillumbik
- To encourage participation of older people in community activities and events
- To encourage older people to learn new skills
- To encourage older people to build social connections
- To promote healthy ageing
Funding Information
- Maximum per application: $500
- Total pool of funding: $3500
What can be funded?
- Funding is available for one-off costs associated with running a low cost or free event or activity during the 2021 Seniors Festival throughout the month of October.
- Examples of events or activities include:
- Morning teas
- Exhibitions or showcases
- ‘Come and try’
- Musical performances
- Information sessions and forums
Eligibility Criteria
- The event or activity must take place in Nillumbik Shire Council
- Incorporated non-profit community groups/ organisations or unincorporated groups which are auspiced by an incorporated body that will deliver activities/projects in Nillumbik
- Minimum $10 million public liability insurance.
- No outstanding grant acquittals from a completed event or activity from a previous Nillumbik Shire Council grant.
Exclusions
Grants will not be considered for:
- ongoing organisational operating costs
- projects that have received full funding from another source
- Events that are for members only
- Events that are part of an organisation’s core business, or usual weekly club meetings
- Venues that are not accessible e.g., no lift or accessible toilet
- Retrospective funding or projects which are not being run during the Victorian Seniors Festival
