The Embassy Dushanbe PDS is pleased to announce funding is available to develop and deliver a national technology education program for youth at nine American Spaces programming centers across Tajikistan.
Objectives
- Successful proposals would achieve the following objectives:
- Improve the technical skills of young Tajiks through institutionalizing a quality technology training program at the eight American Spaces in Tajikistan located in Dushanbe, Khujand, Isfara, Panjakent, Bokhtar, Kulob, Gharm, and Khorugh and Vahdat extension program.
- Establish a network of tech-savvy youth groups, who can collaborate to take part in various tech-based competitions as hackathons, mapathons, and the like.
Project Goal: Support economic development in Tajikistan by equipping youth with in-demand technical skills through a structured curriculum of American Spaces network.

- Funding Mechanism Type: Cooperative Agreement
- Estimated Award Ceiling: $46,000
- Estimated Award Floor: $20,000
- Length of Project Period: Proposed programs should be completed in ten months or less.
- Anticipated program start date: October 1, 2022.
- Project Audience(s): Youth (16-25 years old), students of technical and engineering faculties, young entrepreneurs/innovators who demonstrate high interest in acquiring/developing technical skills.
Eligibility Criteria
- Public Diplomacy Section encourages applications from Tajikistan registered not-for-profit, civil society/non-governmental organizations, and educational institutions with at least three years of programming experience, IT programming experience is desired. This experience should be documented in the organization’s proposal.
- Organizations may subcontract with other entities, but only one, not-for-profit, non-governmental entity can be the prime recipient of the award. When sub contracting with other entities, the responsibilities of each entity must be clearly defined in the proposal.
- Taking into consideration the scope and complexity of the program area, Public Diplomacy Section encourages applicants to strongly consider collaborations with other entities to ensure feasibility of program activities.
