Deadline: 29-Aug-22
The U.S. Embassy Public Diplomacy Section in New Delhi (PDS New Delhi) is soliciting proposals for a grant that meets the specifications stated from legally recognized non-profit, non-governmental organizations, individuals, think tanks and educational institutes that meet U.S. and Indian technical and legal requirements to develop and implement public diplomacy program(s).
Project Objectives
- This project will engage 500 students from at least 30 schools and encourage their participation in the Diversity Roadshow and diversity dialogue in six states and two Union Territories across North India during one year. The grantee will create a 1-2 minute-long closing video that shows the Diversity Roadshow, which will be shared on social media. All attendees and school admins will take a post festival survey to give their feedback. Each school will pledge to create a Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility Club within the first year after this festival. The grantee will also organize a group meeting for representatives from each club in coordination with the U.S. Mission to India.
- They envision publicity of each roadshow on social media platforms and a publicly available calendar and American Center New Delhi (ACND) newsletter to inform local citizens. They may showcase some of the artworks at the gallery space at the ACND following the conclusion of the grant. The grantee will be responsible for procuring all necessary rights for the artwork and other creative assets for the U.S. Embassy for its future usage.
- Three months post the festival, they would like to see one faculty member sign up as “Champion for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility.” These champions should come from each school that participates. Additionally, they would like to access information on the diversity and inclusion clubs formed within a year of this program.
Project Goals
- Through this NOFO, PDS aims to strengthen people-to-people ties by sensitizing students towards inclusion of minorities by exposure to their arts and culture.
- This will lead to a more inclusive society where freedom of religion, overall acceptance and greater tolerance exists, and communal violence and discrimination of all sorts are reduced.
- The grantee will share the information on the diversity and inclusion clubs formed within a year of this program.
- The goal is to start conversations around the topic of diversity and inclusion and ensure the formation of D&I Clubs at school level.
