The City of Long Beach welcomes for two new City grants i.e. CARES Act Non-Profit Relief Grant and Telehealth License Grant to support non-profit organizations located in Long Beach.
These grants will provide general operating support to non-profits that have been financially burdened by COVID-19 and help non-profit mental health agencies obtain a telehealth subscription.
CARES Act Non-Profit Relief Grant
- The CARES Act Non-Profit Relief Grant will support existing Long Beach non-profits experiencing financial hardship due to COVID-19. Eligible non-profits may apply for grants to maintain their operations and enable them to continue to provide services to the community.
Funding Information:
- A total of $200,000 is available to issue grants that cover eligible expenses related to COVID-19. Non-profits with annual operating revenue greater than $500,000 will be eligible to apply for a $10,000 grant and non-profits with annual operating revenue less than $500,000 will be eligible to apply for a $5,000 grant.
- The following is a summary of the eligible expenditures for the Non-Profit Relief Grant:
- Commercial rent;
- Inventory;
- Payroll;
- Personal protective equipment;
- Furniture, fixtures, and equipment that help non-profits safely operate during COVID-19;
- Technology solutions that help organizations safely operate and transition to digital services.
CARES Act Telehealth License Grant
- This funding opportunity is for Long Beach non-profit mental health agencies to subscribe to a telehealth license to administer mental health services over an online platform. This will increase mental health access to Long Beach residents who are uninsured or under-insured while adhering to Safer-At-Home orders during the COVID-19 pandemic. Nonprofits must currently lack a telehealth subscription. Grants are available on a first-come, first served basis.
Funding Information:
- A total of $30,000 is available to issue 15 awards to nonprofit organizations for $2,000.
Eligibility Criteria
- In order to qualify for the Non-Profit Relief Grant, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Must have valid 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status;
- Must have an active City of Long Beach business license;
- Must have experienced financial hardship due to COVID-19;
- Must be located in Long Beach, California.
- In order to qualify for the Telehealth Grant, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Must have valid 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status;
- Must have an active City of Long Beach business license;
- Must be an organization that delivers mental health services to Long Beach residents;
- Must not already have an existing telehealth subscription;
- Must be located in Long Beach, California.
